I am super excited to announce that I have finally made the move to northern Michigan!  Traverse City to be specific.  We have been part time residents here for ten years and have finally made it permanent.

I can't wait to meet high school seniors here and take advantage of all of the gorgeous portrait locations.  I've included a few images from a crazy fun session that I did last summer at the Grand Traverse Commons.  So many great backdrop options there!  Of course I always love photographing children as well.

Contact me soon to discuss your portrait session!  I am looking forward to this fantastic change of scenery.

Brothers Are The Best!

I had the pleasure of doing a studio portrait session with these handsome young

men and their new baby brother in my Plymouth Michigan portait studio.

Even though the little guy wasn't super happy about posing at first,

his brothers were great with him and he eventually decided that a few

family portraits wouldn't be so bad.

Great job guys!

If you are anything like me, the holidays have crept up on you and you are now scrambling to get ready for them.  We will all

enjoy Thanksgiving with our families  and immediately be thrust into the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

You may think that you have waited too long to schedule a holiday portrait session for your child(ren).  Well, I have great news for you!

I am offering holiday mini sessions on December 4th and 5th in my home studio in Plymouth, Michigan.  Not only will you have

your prints and holiday cards in time for Christmas, but the portrait session and ordering sessions will be short so that

you can get back to your other holidays preparations.

I am scheduling 20 minute mini sessions from 9:00 - 4:00 both days.  Your child portrait session will be limited to one outfit and

one holiday backdrop (see the sample images in this Blog post).  The cost for the mini sessions is $70 and includes the portrait session

and one 8x10 print.

Since these sessions are short there are some rules that don't apply to my normal sessions:

These sessions are for children up to 15 years old only.

Babies must be able to sit comfortably unassisted.

Orders will be due the day of the portrait session (we will view the images immediately following the session).

No more than two children per session.  Additional children can be included for $20 each.

Only one outfit per session.  The same holiday scene will be used for all mini session.

Once we all get through the holidays and are able to take a breath you can schedule a full children's portrait session which will be more customized

and lengthy so there can be outfit and scene changes during the session.

I have been bursting at the seams waiting to unveil Rebecca's senior portraits!

Rebecca was the first high school senior to take advantage of my new Barn Session offering.

A session at the barn means that we can create studio as well as outdoor senior

pictures all at the same fun location.

Some of the poses felt a little awkward when she was doing them, but after

seeing the final result Rebecca agreed that they looked great.

I love being a senior portrait photographer because I get to work

with fun, beautiful young women like Rebecca and help them see how gorgeous they really are.

Have a great senior year!

As you may know by now, I love dogs (all animals actually)!  Because of that love for dogs I

volunteer with a great rescue organization called Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue.  For the second

year in a row I have been able to utilize my pet photography skills to create a fundraising

calendar to raise money to help Waggin' Tails continue their fantastic work.

Each month contains a beautiful portrait of a Waggin' Tails alumni who was rescued

from difficult circumstances and has been adopted into a loving home.

I had a great time seeing all of these awesome dogs (including one that I had fostered) and

meeting their super cool new families and seeing how much they were loved.  The calendar

helps people keep their schedule organized, but it's also a celebration of the difficult work that

a lot of dedicated people do to help these dogs find the lives that they deserve.

2015 fundraising calendars are $20 and are available through the Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue

website:  http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/specialevents.html
